Last week I said yes, joining a Facebook page which supports Representative Allen West for President. Since then I received information which compels me to revoke the sale and say no. I will not support Rep. West for the nomination, nor will I vote for him if he is nominated for President. I demand honesty and consistency in my candidates. I can not tolerate pandering to prejudice and bigotry. I have seen and heard previous statements by West in which he related the truth with clarity and conviction. I was ready to support him based on that. Others had a different reaction and several of them set a letter of complaint. West's reaction to that letter, revealed by the Miami herald, turned me off. West responded to two Rabis and two preachers representing a LefTard group with a letter which included the following disgusting expressions of pandering cowardice.

If any seeker or holder of high office is not against Islam, then I am against him. Once you know what it is, you must be opposed to it if you have any morality.

Islam is not a religion, it is a way of life: intra-species predation. Respect is given where respect is due, Islam is not owed any.

I need to hear a candidate curse & condemn Islam and call for the emancipation of those enslaved to Allah. Allen West won't do it. Instead, when assailed by bigots under color of clerical vestments, he pandered to bigotry.

Before getting elected Congressman West was very nasty against Islam and Muslims. Is a shame that everyone who seeks office try to get votes through bashing Islam and Muslims. This is not acceptable and it's condemned by us. Allen West bought his political position through hurting the American Muslims especially the decent Muslim Congressman Mr. Keith Ellison. This new elected congressman Allen West brought shame to the American Congress. My message to Mr. West is that he took the wrong side. He should have taken the side of the interest of all Americans without discrimination. Surely he turned his swearing on defending the Constitution into discrimination. Yes, that disqualify him from his current position!

I do not find anything wrong in telling the truth about Islam in a campaign speech or elsewhere.
There is no harm in exposing the fact that Islam is incompatible with the values promoted in our Declaration of Independence or established in our Constitution.
My objection is that West displayed cowardice in the face of the enemy instead of standing by the truth.
By the grace of God and the First Amendment, we have freedom of expression. Those who object to Rep. West's expressions or those of any candidate or office holder should respond to them in detail as I did in this post.
Stand up for what you believe, respond point by point, citing relvant, verifiable evidence to support your opinions.
If you want to have someone removed from office for ignoring the constitution they swore to uphold start with President Obama, he ignores the constitution very time he passes law that is bad for America. The power elite and the UN when they want to start chaos bring in people from other countries they know are incompatible with the west, thats why you are all here. The muslims , the beheaders, are locked in a time warp, but they seem to know our constitution pretty well if they can use it .I agree, Alan west should have stuck to his guns. The muslims have nothing to offer us, they consider us infidels and think anyone who doesnt' believe in the Muslim religion should be killed, Sofian, would you want to live with millions of people who think Muslims should be killed and tortured and maimed? I don't thinks so, neither do we.

Madhatter, I did not suggest that Rep. West should be impeached, only that he has lost my trust and support.
Obama never had my trust or support. While agree that he should be impeached, there are two problems: first, Republicans can not possibly obtain the supermanority required for impeachment & conviction. Second, V.P. Biden would be no improvement.
Like you Allen Wests speeches on Islam resonated with me. I was also deeply disheartened by his letter. I sent a letter to his campaign with a link to this blog.
Lets hope that he will find his strength and convictions once more. I can't imagine what a withering assault from the liberals and islamists must be like.
So, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. Time will tell whether he can rise to the occasion. Few have.

I really nead to hear clarity from candidates. When I hear the H word, I do not detect clarity.
Near the end of his CPAC closing address, Rep. West told it as it is. We need to know that he really means it.
The enemy is Islam, no qualifiers needed.
