Al-Wala Wal Bara: Fountainhead of Islamic Hate

Islam hates me, this I know
for the Koran tells me so.
Muslims all to Hell can go

    While recognizing the  volcano of Islamic hatred for us, Donald J. Trump seems to be ignorant of its source.  It is the concept of  Wala Wal Bara: 'love and hate for the sake of Allah'.



 Muslims must love what Allah loves and hate what Allah hates as you will see in a quote from Tafsir Ibn Kathir.

    Our concentration is on the  Quranic fountainhead of hatred but Uncle Vladdie has included in his litany a list of  ayat and ahadith  detailing  the consequences of that hatred. Read it in his comment at Jihad Watch.

• 2:276...Allâh likes not the disbelievers¹
• 3:140... Allâh likes not the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers ²       
• 30:45...Verily, He likes not the disbelievers ³­   
• 39:7...  If you disbelieve, then verily, Allâh is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. ⁴

    Those ayat, while not expressly  using hate in the Hilali/Khan translation, make it clear that  disbelievers  are on Allah's enemies list.  I found two relevant tafsirs in Ibn Kathir. I quote the crucial clauses in this list, with the full paragraphs reproduced below.

•  Whenever Allah hates a servant of His, He calls Jibril and says, "O Jibril, verily I hate so-and-so, so hate him.'' Thus, Jibril will hate him. Then, he (Jibril) will call out amongst the dwellers of the heavens, "Verily, Allah hates so-and-so, so you too must hate him.'' Then the dwellers of the heavens hate him and hatred for him will be placed in the earth.) ⁵
•  And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but hatred of their Lord.) means, the longer they persist in their disbelief, the more Allah hates them ⁶

    How intense is Allah's hatred for us?  So  hot that he curses us, the angels curse us and Allah's slaves  curse us.

• 2:161...it is they on whom is the Curse of Allâh and of the angels and of mankind ⁶
• 9:30...Allâh's Curse be on them, ⁷

2:276. Allâh will destroy Ribâ (usury) and will give increase for Sadaqât (deeds of charity, alms, etc.) And Allâh likes not the disbelievers, sinners.

3:140. If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allâh may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you what you used to do. Verily, He is the All-Knower of that which is in (men's) breasts.

(Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet said, Verily, whenever Allah loves a servant of His, He calls Jibril and says, "O Jibril, verily I love so-and-so, so love him.'' Thus, Jibril will love him. Then, he (Jibril) will call out to the dwellers of the heavens, "Verily, Allah loves so-and-so, so you too must love him.'' Then the dwellers of the heavens love him and he will be given acceptance in the earth. Whenever Allah hates a servant of His, He calls Jibril and says, "O Jibril, verily I hate so-and-so, so hate him.'' Thus, Jibril will hate him. Then, he (Jibril) will call out amongst the dwellers of the heavens, "Verily, Allah hates so-and-so, so you too must hate him.'' Then the dwellers of the heavens hate him and hatred for him will be placed in the earth.) (And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but hatred of their Lord.) means, the longer they persist in their disbelief, the more Allah hates them, and the longer they persist in it, the more they and their families will lose on the Day of Resurrection. This is in contrast to the believers, for the longer they live and do good deeds, the higher their status in Paradise will be, the greater their reward, and the more beloved they will be to their Creator.

9:30. And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allâh, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allâh. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allâh's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!
