Why Peace Is Impossible: Allah's Imperatives: Terrorism

Sanctified

[Emphasis added.]
3:151. We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allâh, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong­doers).

Commanded

8:12. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."

8:57. So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.

So if you gain the mastery over them in war), if you defeat them and have victory over them in war,
(then disperse those who are behind them,) by severely punishing ﴿the captured people﴾ according to Ibn `Abbas, Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Ad-Dahhak, As-Suddi, `Ata' Al-Khurasani and Ibn `Uyaynah. This Ayah commands punishing them harshly and inflicting casualties on them. This way, other enemies, Arabs and non-Arabs, will be afraid and take a lesson from their end, (so that they may learn a lesson. ) As-Suddi commented, "They might be careful not to break treaties, so that they do not meet the same end.'' So if you gain the mastery over them in war), if you defeat them and have victory over them in war, (then disperse those who are behind them,) by severely punishing ﴿the captured people﴾ according to Ibn `Abbas, Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Ad-Dahhak, As-Suddi, `Ata' Al-Khurasani and Ibn `Uyaynah. 8:60. And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allâh and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allâh does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allâh shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly.

    At first glance, 8.57 & 60 may appear innocent. Muslims are commanded to give harsh treatment to defeated victims to tach a lesson to those behind them.  That means terrify those they intend to attack next.  Ibn Kathir adds "will be afraid.

    Muslims are commanded to maximize military power  to threaten intended victims. Ibn Kathir adds "to strike fear". That is a clue for you.  Ibn Ishaq, Moe's biographer, has another clue for you found on page 326 of Guillaume's The Life Of Muhammad.

Then God mentions the unbelievers and what they will meet when they die, and describes them, and tells His prophet about them until He says: 'If you come upon them in war, deal with them so forcibly as to terrify those who follow them, haply they may take warning/ i.e. make a severe example of them to those that come after, that haply  they may understand. 'And prepare what strength you can against them, and cavalry by which. you may strike terror into the enemy of God and your enemy' as far as His words, 'And whatever you spend in the way of God will be repaid to you: you will not be wronged,' i.e. you will not lose your reward with God in the next life and a rapid recompense in this world.
 

Terrorism Rewarded

    Allah  awards Brownie Points for acts of terrorism intended to injure or enrage us.  On Judgment Day, the Muslim will stand before Allah, who will weigh his sins against his righteous good deeds. The swing of the balance will decide his  eternal destiny.
Acts  to instill terror are credited to the terrorist as righteous good deeds.
9:120. It was not becoming of the people of Al-Madinah and the bedouins of the neighbourhood to remain behind Allâh's Messenger (Muhammad  when fighting in Allâh's Cause) and (it was not becoming of them) to prefer their own lives to his life. That is because they suffer neither thirst nor fatigue, nor hunger in the Cause of Allâh, nor they take any step to raise the anger of disbelievers nor inflict any injury upon an enemy but is written to their credit as a deed of righteousness. Surely, Allâh wastes not the reward of the Muhsinûn

Terrorism practiced

    Allah cast terror and Moe was made victorious with terror! Note the allusion to 8.57 in the last sentence of 59.2.!
33:26. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives.

59:2. He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Banî An-Nadîr) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allâh! But Allâh's (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:
 Narrated Abu Huraira:

    Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).


Islamic Law

    Turn back to 8.6o  and take note of the phrase "including steeds of war". Islamic law has another clue for you.  Hedaya, the fiqh of the Hanafi madhab,  tells us  the purpose  keeping steeds of war.  It's terror, Stupid!  On  pages 175 & 176 of the second volume, there is a discussion of allocation of  shares of plunder. The horseman gets a share for his horse, it makes no difference how many horses he has or what breed, Persian or Arabian.  The text is barely legible and ocr fails. I highlighted the pertinent sections.

Now read the last paragraph on page 176 for another clue. The act of setting out on a ghazwa inflicts terror on the infidels!

    Every Muslim must be an object of fear to infidels because he  is likely to attack them.  Hedaya  spills the beans in a discussion of which Muslims are authorized to issue writs of protection.  Once again, I have highlighted pertinent parts.

Strategy

    "The Quranic Concept Of War" a strategy manual used by the army of Pakistan, describes terror on page 59.
Terror struck into the hearts of the enemies is not only a means, it is the end in itself.  Once a condition of terror into the opponent's heart is obtained, hardly anything is left to be achieved.  It is the point where the means and the end meet and merge; it is the decision we wish to impose upon him.

Who will get a clue? Read the highlighted  clauses over and over until reality sinks in.

Big Lie: "Islam Has Nothing To Do With Terrorism"

Islamic law: Hedaya, the fiqh of the Hanafi madhab, proves it false. I tweeted pages 154, 176 & 199 of volume 2.
According to Islamic law as used in the Ottoman Empire and India, every Muslim must be an object of fear to infidels as he is liable to attack them. That fact is repeated in pages 156 & 157 in the context discussing the effect of writs of protection issued to infidels by Muslims. {ages 275 & 176 discuss the value of keeping horses to strike terror into the hearts of infidels. Going out to attack imposes terror upon infidels. Who could have guessed it? Certainly not the Pope, President, Secretary of State and National Security Advisor. Page 199, in the context of a discussion of Jizya & plunder, tells us that Jihad operates on the emotions of the infidels. Who can get a clue? Can you? The objectiver os terrorism is to weaken our resolve, render us incapable of effective reaction and scare us into surrendering without a fight, in which case, Moe did was not obligated to share the spoils. Jihad Is Not Defensive!!! Muslims, dhimmis & apologists falsely assert that Jihad is exclusively defensive. Islamic law proves them to be liars. I am exhibiting and providing links to the relevant pages of the legal codes of the Hanafi, Maliki & Shafi'i schools of Islamic law.

When the Muslims enter the enemy's country, and besiege the cities or strong holds of the infidels, it is necessary to invite them to embrace the faith, because Ibn Abbas relates of the prophet that " he never destroyed any without previously inviting them to embrace the faith. " If, therefore, they embrace the faith, it is unnecessary to war with them, because that which was the design of the war is then obtained without war.  The prophet, moreover, has said "we are directed to make war upon men until such time as they shall confess there is no God but one God; but when they repeat this creed, their persons and properties are in protection."  ---If they do not accept the call to the faith, they must then be called upon to pay Jizya, or capitation-tax; because the prophet directed the commanders of his armies so to do; and also, because by submitting to this tax, war is forbidden and terminated, upon the authority of the Koran.

    I have now exhibited to you relevant passages from the Islamic law of the Hanafi, Maliki & Shafi'i schools of Islamic law. The three agree that it is necessary to invite infidels to Islam before attacking them.

    The Shafi'i fiqh specifically gives Surah At-Taubah 9.29 as its scriptural basis; take a close look at it: 

9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Click through, read the entire surah and see if there is any defensive element in it.  Then read Ibn Kathir's tafsir of 9.29; is defense mentioned therein?

    Would Muslims be required to issue dawah before attacking if infidels were attacking them?  Risala explicitly answers in the negative.

    Moe's orders to his commanders in the field are reported in Sahih Muslim 19.4294. I quote the pertinent part.
If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them...


    When Umar sent the Muslim army to Persia, a Persian general asked why they were attacking. The answer is found in Sahih Bukhari 4.53.386; I quote the pertinent part.
Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya (i.e. tribute); and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:-- "Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever amongst us remain alive, shall become your master."

8.39  9.29 are fight...until loops with compound terminal conditions Neither one has any element of defense in its text or context.  9.123 has neither defensive element nor terminal condition.  What did Moe say about them?

Sunan Abu Dawud 14.2635
    Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

    The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: I am commanded to fight with men till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Apostle, face our qiblah (direction of prayer), eat what we slaughter, and pray like us. When they do that, their life and property are unlawful for us except what is due to them. They will have the same rights as the Muslims have, and have the same responsibilities as the Muslims have.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 196:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)"

Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."


Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 92, Number 388:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
When Allah's Apostle died and Abu Bakr was elected as a Caliph after him, some of the Arabs reverted to disbelief, 'Umar said to Abu Bakr, "How dare you fight the people while Allah's Apostle said, I have been ordered to fight the people till they say 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah' And whoever says: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' saves his wealth and his life from me unless he deserves a legal punishment justly, and his account will be with Allah! Abu Bakr said, "By Allah, I will fight him who discriminates between Zakat and prayers, for Zakat is the Compulsory right to be taken from the wealth By Allah, if they refuse to give me even a tying rope which they use to give to Allah's Apostle, I would fight them for withholding it." 'Umar said, 'By Allah, It was nothing, except I saw that Allah had opened the chest of Abu Bakr to the fight, and I came to know for certain that was the truth."


    The Profit said he was commanded/ordered to fight with men/the people until they recite shehada and do things his way. There is no element of defense in any of the ahadith relating to the Jihad imperative.

and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he
deserves to be killed.

08.2 In such a case, it is obligatory for the
caliph (A: or his representative) to ask him to
repent and return to Islam. If he does, it is
accepted from him, but if he refuses, he is
immediately killed.  ...

ACTS THAT ENTAIL LEAVING ISLAM
08.7 (0: Among the things that entail apostasy
from Islam (may Allah protect us from them) are:
(1) to prostrate to an idoL whether sarcastically,
out of mere eontrariness, or in actual conviction,
like .that of someone who believes the
Creator to be something that has originated in
time. Like idols in this respect are the
sun or
moon, and like prostration is bowing to other than
Allah, if one intends reverence towards it like the
reverence due to Allah;
(2) to intend to commit unbelief, even if in
the future. And like this intention is hesitating
whether to do ~o or not: one thereby immediately
commits unbelief:
(3) to speak words that imply unbelief such
as HAllah is the third ofthree:' or "'I am AlIah"unless
one's tongue has run away with one. or one
is quoting another. or is one of the friends of Allah
Most High (wali, def: w33) in a spiritually intoxicated
state of total oblivion (A: friend of Allah or
not, someone totally oblivious is as if insane, and
is not held legally responsible (dis: k13.1(O:»),
for these latter do not entail unbelief;
(4) to revile Allah or His messenger (Allah
bless him and give him peace);
(5) to deny the existence of Allah, His beginningless
eternality, His endless eternaIity, or to
deny any of His attributes which the consensus of
Muslims ascribes to Him (dis: vI);
(6) to be sarcastic about Allah's name, His
command, His interdiction, His promise, or His
threat;
(7) to deny any verse of the Koran or anything
which by scholarly consensus (def: b7)
belongs to it, or to add a verse that does not belong
to it;

    Under our first amendment, we have freedom of speech and religion. We can choose our own faith or none. We can change our religious preference. We can question and criticize religions.  Under Islamic law, those acts entail the death penalty.

    There is more, much more; not limited to cruel & unusual punishment and inequality. But I want to point out the ultimate hypocrisy of these damned Muslims and their Dhimmis.  Let us turn to Islamic law concerning the Caliph; chief ruler in Islam prior to 1924.  Only a Muslim can be Caliph, Kuffar are disqualified!  [Emphasis added.]

THE QUALIFICATIONS OF A CALIPH
025.3 (Nawawi:) Among the qualifications of
the caliph are that he be:
(a) Muslim (H: so that he may see to the best
interests of Islam and the Muslims (K: it being
invalid to appoint a non-Muslim (kafir) to authority.
even to rule non-Muslims.) (S: Qadi 'lyad
states that there is scholarly consensus (def: b7)
that it is not legally valid to invest a non-Muslim
as caliph. and that if a caliph becomes a nonMuslim
(dis: 08.7) he is no longer caliph, as a]so
when he does not maintain the prescribed prayers ...

    Attention: CAIR:  kinly kiss my ass!!! Dissolve. Vaporize. Fade away. Sit down and shut up, AssWholes. Flee at once, all is known!

    An infidel has no right to authority over Muslims!  Here it is, explicitly stated in the Islamic Law of divorce in the context of child custody.   A Christian, divorced by a Muslim, has no right to child custody. m3.13 [Emphasis added.]

(c) and if the child is Muslim, it is a necessary
condition that the person with custody be a Muslim
(0: because it is a position of authority, and a
non-Muslim has no right to authority and hence
no right to raise a Muslim. If a non-Muslim were
given charge of the custody and upbringing of the
child, the child might acquire the character traits
of unbelief (kufr».

    America does not have a caliph, but we have judges.  Of cuss, Infidels have no right to authority, even over other Infidels!

022.1 The necessary qualifications for being an
Islamic judge (qadi) are:
(a) to be a male freeman;
(b) to have full capacity for moral answerability
(takliL def: c8.1);
(c) to be upright (024.4);...

(0: The author did not mention the necessary
condition of being a Muslim, evidently feeling that
uprightness ( (c) above) was sufficient to imply it.)

    Since Dr. Carson did not propose legislation to erect a religious test, the prohibition is not relevent. Every voter, including Dr. Carson, is entitled to use his own criterion in selecting among candidates.

    Freedom of religion ain't relevent either. Islam is not a religion, it is a way of life: intra species predation.   Freedom of religion is for legitimate religions, not for crime syndicates in sheep's clothing.  Yes, I have proof, otherwise I would not write it.

    Allah commands Muslims to obey and emulate Moe.

    Allah's imperatives include perpetual war against pagans &Christians and attacks against the nearest infidels. Moe's sunnah includes rape, plunder, extortion and slavery.  Islam therefore entails those acts, and it is impossible to properly practice it without performing them.

    When there is a right to attack, plunder & enslave your neighbors, there will be a right to manifest, practice & propagate Islam; until then there ain't.  I therefore call upon CAIR to dissolve; sit down and shut up. Flee at once, all is known!

    I call upon Dr. Carson and the other aspirants to the Presidency to tell Islam & CAIR to go to Hell.  I call upon them to quit  prefixing adjectives to Islam. There is no moderate Islam. There is no radical Islam.  Its Islam, Stupid!  Its what moe said and did; the Qur'an Sunnah and jurisprudence of Islam, not your insane fantasy of peaceful, anodyne Muslims contrasted with a violent minority.

A letter from Article 19 and numerous other human rights groups to the UNHRC and member states urges them to vote against resolutions condemning

  • defamation
  • denigration
  • vilification
  • negative stereotyping [omitted from list]
    • of religions.

    The primary issue is exploitation of blasphemy laws to persecute minorities and perpetrate injustice against individual members of minority groups. The secondary issue is the rights of freedom of expression and belief.  People should be free to discuss religious ideas and practices openly, free from threat of prosecution & persecution. 

    This issue flows directly from Islam's literalism, absolutism & supremacism.  The narrative of Islam tells us that Muhammad received divine revelation through the agency of Jibril, at once confirming and superseding earlier scriptures.  Because Moe is the seal of the prophets, his revelation is final.  Because Moe said that Allah said that it is from Allah, it is perfect.  That makes Islam right and everything else wrong. 

    Surah Al-Ma'idah 33 specifies the punishment for waging "war against Allah and and his Messenger", listing options from expulsion to execution. Tafsir Ibn Kathir defines "wage war" in the following terms: "`Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways." Disbelief, opposition & contradiction are capital offenses in Islam.  That makes any affirmation of Christian faith a capital offense subject to the death penalty. Because only Allah has the right to be worshiped, you have no right to worship otherwise.

    For the practical application, we must turn to Shari'ah, as codified in Reliance of the Traveller. First, we should examine the penalty for apostasy and the penalty applied to dhimmis who violate Islam's stricture.  Both apostates and offending dhimmis are subject to  execution.

O8.1 

When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.

O8.2

In such a case, it is obligatory for the caliph (A: or his representive) to ask him to repent and return to Islam. If he does, it is accepted from him, but if he refuses, he is immediately killed.

O9.14 

When an adult male is taken captive, the caliph (def: o25) considers the interests (O: of Islam and the Muslims) and decides between the prisoner's death, slavery, release without paying anything, or ransoming himself in exchange for money or for a Muslim captive held by the enemy.

If the prisoner becomes a Muslim (O: before the caliph chooses any of the four alternatives) then he may not be killed, and one of the other three alternatives is chosen.

    Dhimmis: conquered Jews & Christians dominated by Muslims, suffer certain restrictions under Islamic law. Examine them carefully.

Such non-Muslim subjects are obliged to comply with Islamic rules that pertain to the safety and indemnity of life, reputation, and property. In addition, they:

-1- are penalized for committing adultery or theft, thought not for drunkenness;

-2- are distinguished from Muslims in dress, wearing a wide cloth belt (zunnar);

-3- are not greeted with "as-Salamu 'alaykum";

-4- must keep to the side of the street;

-5- may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims' buildings, though if they acquire a tall house, it is not razed;

-6- are forbidden to openly display wine or pork, (A: to ring church bells or display crosses,) recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays;

-7- and are forbidden to build new churches.


O11.10

The agreement is also violated (A: with respect to the offender alone) if the state has stipulated that any of the following things break it, and one of the subjects does so anyway, though if the state has not stipulated that these break the agreement, then they do not; namely, if one of the subject people:

-1- commits adultery with a Muslim woman or marries her;

-2- conceals spies of hostile forces;

-3- leads a Muslim away from Islam;

-4- kills a Muslim;

-5- or mentions something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam.

    What is impermissible to mention?  For the answer, we turn to a list of 20 acts which entail apostasy.

O8.7: Acts that Entail Leaving Islam

(O: Among the things that entail apostasy from Islam (may Allah protect us from them) are:

-1- to prostrate to an idol, whether sarcastically, out of mere contrariness, or in actual conviction, like that of someone who believes the Creator to be something that has originated in time. Like idols in this respect are the sun or moon, and like prostration is bowing to other than Allah, if one intends reverence towards it like the reverence due to Allah;

-2- to intend to commit unbelief, even if in the future. And like this intention is hesitating whether to do so or not: one thereby immediately commits unbelief;

-3- to speak words that imply unbelief such as ``Allah is the third of three,'' or ``I am Allah''-unless one's tongue has run away with one, or one is quoting another, or is one of the friends of Allah Most High (wali, def: w33) in a spiritually intoxicated state of total oblivion (A: friend of Allah or not, someone totally oblivious is as if insane, and is not held legally responsible (dis: k13.1(O:) ) ), for these latter do not entail unbelief;

-4- to revile Allah or His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace);

-5- to deny the existence of Allah, His beginingless eternality, His endless eternality, or to deny any of His attributes which the consensus of Muslims ascribes to Him (dis: v1);

-6- to be sarcastic about Allah's name, His command, His interdiction, His promise, or His threat;

-7- to deny any verse of the Koran or anything which by scholarly consensus (def: b7) belongs to it, or to add a verse that does belong to it;

-8- to mockingly say, ``I don't know what faith is'';

-9- to reply to someone who says, ``There is no power or strength save through Allah''; ``Your saying `There's no power or strength, etc,' won't save you from hunger'';

-10- for a tyrant, after an oppressed person says, ``This is through the decree of Allah,'' to reply, ``I act without the decree of Allah'';

-11- to say that a Muslim is an unbeliever (kafir) (dis: w47) in words that are uninterpretable as merely meaning he is an ingrate towards Allah for divinely given blessings (n: in Arabic, also ``kafir'');

-12- when someone asks to be taught the Testification of Faith (Ar. Shahada, the words, ``La ilaha ill Allahu Muhammadun rasulu Llah'' (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah) ), and a Muslim refuses to teach him it;

-13- to describe a Muslim or someone who wants to become a Muslim in terms of unbelief (kufr);

-14- to deny the obligatory character of something which by the consensus of Muslims (ijma`, def: B7) is part of Islam, when it is well known as such, like the prayer (salat) or even one rak'a from one of the five obligatory prayers, if there is no excuse (def: u2.4);

-15- to hold that any of Allah's messengers or prophets are liars, or to deny their being sent;

(n: `Ala' al-din' Abidin adds the following:

-16- to revile the religion of Islam;

-17- to believe that things in themselves or by their own nature have any causal influence independent of the will of Allah;

-18- to deny the existence of angels or jinn (def: w22), or the heavens;

-19- to be sarcastic about any ruling of the Sacred Law;

-20- or to deny that Allah intended the Prophet's message (Allah bless him and give him peace) to be the religion followed by the entire world (dis: w4.3-4) (al-Hadiyya al-`Ala'iyya (y4), 423-24). )

There are others, for the subject is nearly limitless. May Allah Most High save us and all Muslims from it.)

    Previous resolutions demanded that member states pass & enforce legislation prohibiting and punishing violation of those rules.  They specify associating Islam with terrorism and implicitly condemn Fitna & the MoToons.

    The deadline for submitting draft resolutions is Thursday March 17; the 16th session concludes March 25.   No draft resolutions have been listed in the extranet and none were listed in the email document release notice.  It is likely that the resolution will be introduced at the last moment and rammed through in a hurry.  It is possible that the OIC will follow the precedent set by withdrawing the draft resolution condemning International Burn the Koran Day and abort the resolution rather than see it defeated.

    Now is the time to strike, while the iron is hot.  Go to http://www.congress.org/ to send emails to President Obama, your Representative & Senators demanding a vote against the resolution.  HR 141 is still bottled up in committee with little hope of being voted out for a floor vote before the HRC votes on their resolution. Mention it to your Rep. and urge him to cosign it and push for its passage.

Koran Toilet Paper

Update 02/24/12:

   This subject has recently become an object of search again, with 52 searches leading to this post in the last ten days.  Since the three Facebook groups herein named are defunct, leaving only the Muslim's group demanding their destruction and it has been inactive  this month.  One newer Koran Toilet Paper group remains, with only two members, inactive since September '11.

   What is your interest in this subject and why did you search for Koran Toilet Paper?  Were you trying to find a supplier of tp imprinted with Koran verses?   My own searches for that product have been unsuccessful.  If you find it, please leave a link in the comments. Muslim Facebook Boycott Protests 'koran toilet paper' was uttered and published 10/19/'09 in response to a threatened Muslim boycott of Facebook. The Muslims were demanding the deletion of a Facebook group "Koran Toilet Paper Roll".   Posted at Freedom Ain't Free, it has received  532 page views, 9 of them on September 8.  

    I do not know how many page views it has received  on my VOX blog, but recently it has been the most popular post.   That post comes up #9 in the Google SERP.   That post drew 17 of 70 page views to 10 p.m. today.

    Just in case readers are looking for the literal product, I did a search for novelty tp.

  • Just Toilet Paper does not offer Koran tp. They do offer  custom printing.
That search was a bust.  A German man tried to market Qur'an tp four years ago and got arrested, which may have put a damper on the market.

    KTPR was taken down by Facebook, briefly restored, and disappeared.  It has been replaced by two smaller groups  which are less active as well as less popular.
    The group demanding KTPR's deletion is still going, but not extremely active.
    It is fun to joke about using the Qur'an for peri-anal  hygiene but, the practice can have consequences.  Some inks can be irritating and  coated paper can cause paper cuts, which can become infected, resulting in painful boils.  I suggest using the  less expensive paper back editions that ain't printed on  thin coated paper.

    With the preliminaries out of the way, its time to get down to the serious stuff.   The issue is not covered in the Qur'an, so we turn to the hadith.  The fun starts in Sahih Bukhari 1.4.157  with a narration in which the Profit asks his companion to bring him three stones,  but not bone or dung.
   

    Sunan Abu Dawud 1.7   makes the prohibition explicit.

Book 1, Number 0007:
Narrated Salman al-Farsi:

It was said to Salman: Your Prophet teaches you everything, even about excrement. He replied: Yes. He has forbidden us to face the qiblah at the time of easing or urinating, and cleansing with right hand, and cleansing with less than three stones, or cleansing with dung or bone.

Why should Muslims be prohibited from wiping their butts with dried camel dung or old bones?  Why would anyone consider using a piece of crap for that purpose?  But that's beside the point.  Moe has an answer for you.

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 1, Number 0039:
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud:

A deputation of the jinn came to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) and said: O Muhammad, forbid your community to cleans themselves with a bone or dung or charcoal, for in them Allah has provided sustenance for us. So the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) forbade them to do so.    

    You thought jinn were mythical, didn't you?  But Moe met with a delegation of jinn who told him that Allah provided bones and dried dung for them to eat. If they eat dried dung, whats the problem?   They could just wait for the crap on the soiled items to dry.

    The Prophet said to use three clean stones.


Sunan Abu Dawud Book 1, Number 0041:
Narrated Khuzaymah ibn Thabit:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) was asked about cleansing (after relieving oneself). He said: (One should cleanse oneself) with three stones which should be free from dung.

    But there's more; stones ain't enough, you  should use water, too.

Sunan Abu Dawud Book 1, Number 0044:
Narrated AbuHurayrah:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The following verse was revealed in connection with the people of Quba': "In it are men who love to be purified" (ix.108). He (AbuHurayrah) said: They used to cleanse themselves with water after easing. So the verse was revealed in connection with them.

    Ain't those great suggestions?  But they are more than suggestions, they are law.  Book e of Reliance of the Traveller  contains the rules of ritual purity.   This is not suitable for children or overly sensitive adults.

 e9.0: Going to Lavatory  [Emphasis added to interesting parts.]
e9.1: Recommended Measures
It is recommended when one intends to use the lavatory:
-1- to put something on one's feet, unless there is an excuse (O:such as not having shoes);
-2- to cover the head (O:even if only with a handkerchief or other);
-3- to set aside anything on which there is the mention of Allah Most High. His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), or any revered name (O:like those of prophets or angels).  If one enters with a ring (O:on which something worthy of respect is written), one closes one's hand around it;
-4- to ready stones (N: or other suitable material (def:e9.5) ) (O:if one uses them) to clean oneself of filth (N:though water alone is sufficient);
-5- to say before entering:
"In the name of Allah. O Allah, I take refuge in You from demons, male and female,"
and after leaving,
"[O Lord,] Your forgiveness: Praise be to Allah who rid me of the hurt and gave me health";
-6- to enter with the left foot first and depart with the right foot first (and this, together with (3) and
-5- above, are not only for indoors, but recommended outdoors as well);
-7- not to raise one's garment until one squats down to the ground (O: to keep one's nakedness covered as much as possible) and to lower it before one stand up;
-8- to put most of one's weight on the left foot while squatting;
-9- not to spend a long time;
-10- not to speak; 
-11- when finished urinating, for men to squeeze the penis with the left hand from base to head (O: recommended because this is where the urethra is, and for women to squeeze their front between thumb and forefinger) (N: so urine does not exit later and nullify one's ablution) pulling lightly three times (O: this being recommended when one thinks the urine has stopped, though if one thinks it has not, this is obligatory);
-12- not to urinate while standing (O: which is offensive) unless there is an excuse (N: such as when standing is less likely to spatter urine on one's clothes than sitting, or when sitting is a hardship);
-13- not to clean oneself with water in the same place one relieved oneself, if it might spatter, though if in a lavatory one need not move to a different place;
-14- to distance oneself from others if outdoors and to screen oneself;
-15- not to urinate into holes, on hard places, where there is wind, in waterways, where people gather to talk, on paths, under fruit trees, near graves, in still water, or in less than 216 liters of running water;
-16- and not to relieve oneself with one's front or rear facing the sun, moon, or the Sacred Precinct in Jerusalem.
e9.2: Prohibitions
It is unlawful to urinate on anything edible, bones, anything deserving respect, a grave or in a mosque, even if into a receptacle.
e9.3
It is unlawful to urinate or defecate with one's front or rear towards the direction of prayer when outdoors and there is no barrier to screen one, though this is permissible when one is indoors within a meter and a half of a barrier at least 32 cm. high, or in a hole that deep. When one is not this close to such a barrier at least 32 cm. high, or in a hole that deep. When one is not this close to such a barrier, it is not permissible except in a lavatory, where, if the walls are farther from one than the maximal distance or are shorter than the minimal height, relieving oneself with front or rear towards the direction of prayer is permissible, though offensive.  
e9.4: The Obligation of Cleaning Oneself of Filth
It is obligatory to clean oneself of every impure substance coming from one's front or rear, though not from gas, dry worms or stones, or excrement without moisture.
e9.5: Use of dry substances or water
Stones suffice to clean oneself, though it is best to follow this by washing with water. Anything can take the place of stones that is a solid, pure, removes the filth, is not something that deserves respect or is worthy of veneration, nor something that is edible (O: these being five conditions for the validity of using stones (N: or something else) to clean oneself of filth without having to follow it by washing with water).
But it is obligatory to wash oneself with water if:
-1- one has washed away the filth with a liquid other than water, or with something impure;
-2- one has become soiled with filth from a separate source;
-3- one's waste has moved from where it exited (n: reaching another part of one's person) or has dried;
-4- or if feces spread beyond the inner buttocks (N: meaning that which is enfolded when standing), or urine moved beyond the head of the penis, though if they do not pass beyond them, stones suffice.
e9.5: How to clean oneself
It is obligatory (N: when cleaning oneself with a dry substance alone) to both remove the filth, and to wipe three times, even when once is enough to clean it, doing this either with three pieces (lit. "stones") or three sides of one piece. If three times does not remove it, it is obligatory to (N: repeat it enough to) clean it away (O: as that is the point of cleaning oneself. Nawawi says in al-Majmu' that cleaning oneself (N: with a dry substance) means to remove the filth so that nothing remains but a trace that could not be removed unless one were to use water) (N: and when this has been done, any remaining effects of filth that could have been done, any remaining effects of filth that could have only been removed with water are excusable).  An odd number of strokes is recommended. One should wipe from front to back on the right side with the first piece, similarly wipe the left with the second, and wipe both sides and the anus with the third. Each stroke must begin at a point on the skin that is free of impurity.
It is offensive to use the right hand to the oneself of filth.
e9.6: Cleaning before or after ablution
It is best to clean oneself of filth before ablution, though if one waits until after it to clean, the ablution is nevertheless valid(N: provided that while cleaning, the inside surface of the hand (def: e7.4 does not touch the front or rear private parts).
If one waits until after one's dry ablution (tayammum, def:e12) to clean away filth, the dry ablution is not valid (A: because lack of filth is a condition for it).


    E9.1-3 instructs Muslims not to carry the Qur'an into the lavatory. E9.5 is explicit: you must not use any object that deserves respect or veneration.  Since they do not consider translations to be sacred,  for maximum  offense (if that is the intention) you should desecrate an Arabic Qur'an.  The problem with toilet paper is that it could  be made from recycled Qur'ans.

    The right hand prohibition has a cultural connection. Seventh century Arabs did not use eating utensils, they  grabbed food out of common pots with their right hands. Amputating the right hand of a thief forces him to use his left hand for everything, which could introduces feces into the common pot.   Perhaps that is why Risala (Maliki Fiqh) gives this instruction.

4.1e The place is rubbed with the hand while the water is being poured until it is cleaned of noxiousness. It is enough that he thinks it probable if he is able to do that. If he is not able to do it because his hand is cut off or short, he delegates someone who is able to touch that place, be it wife or slavegirl.

    The laws of marriage are in book m, the laws of divorce in book n and the laws of 'justice' including Jihad, are in book o. It is 1251 pages, happy hunting!

Reliance covers the Shafi'i madhab. For the Hanafi madhab, as in India and the Ottoman Empire, you need Hedaya. There is a two volume set at Google Books, get both volumes. if you need the details of the laws of slavery, you need vol. 1, it is your only real hope. Keller did not translate that part, deeming it anachronistic, which it ain't, of cuss.

The laws relating to crime, punishments, marriage, divorce and slavery are in the first volume. The laws of Jihad begin on page 139 of the second volume. Note that Hedaya explains the differences between schools of Islamic law.  It is dense, archaic and difficult but worthwhile.

Risala is the fiqh of the Hanafi madhab. It is shorter, less detailed and easiest to read.

This post is spurred by recent interest in tags related to Reliance of the Traveller. Updating this post with new links including links to the handbooks of other schools of Shari'ah was motivated by a cross link posted in Family Security Matters  this excellent article at Family Security Matters by Ed Cline has raised several important points which require posts of their own for deeper exploration.

    Islamic law is derived from Muhammad's recitation and example: Qur'an & Sunnah. "Umdat as-Salik wa 'Uddat an-Nasik (Reliance of the Traveller and Tools of the Worshipper, also commonly known by its shorter title Reliance of the Traveller) is a classical manual of fiqh for the Shafi'i school of Islamic jurisprudence. The book is about 1251 pages long. While you can search it at Muhaddith,  there are some limitations to the search. The text has been posted an an educational site, from which I took these quotations. This is a raw text file, and some of it is extremely RAW! I suggest using the Ctrl F search function to find what you are seeking if you go there and delve into it: That text version is not complete, it ends with Book V.

Islamic Bulletin has an extensive librarywhich includes two versions of Reliance.

    The laws concerning marriage, divorce, crime & punishments, and jihad are imposed upon non-Muslims where Allah's writ runs.  Islamic law forbids charging or receiving interest. Shari'ah compliant commerce involves the proscription of all interest and all traffic with Israel.  It also involves the payment of 2.5%  Zakat on financial transactions  as well as on increase in wealth.  What most westerners don't know is that 1/8  of Zakat collections must be paid to the terrorists to finance their war against us.  It is illegal to give Zakat to Kuffar.


H8.7: The Eight Categories of Recipients

It is obligatory to distribute one's zakat among eight categories of recipients (O: meaning that zakat goes to none besides them), one-eighth of the zakat to each category. (n: In the Hanafi school, it is valid for the giver to distribute his zakat to all of the categories, some of them, or to confine himself to just one of them (al-Lubab fi sharh al-Kitab(y88), 1.155). )

H8.17: Those Fighting for Allah

The seventh category is those fighting for Allah, meaning people engaged in Islamic military operations for whom no salary has been allotted in the army roster (O: but who are volunteers for jihad without remuneration).  They are given enough to suffice them for the operation, even if affluent; of weapons, mounts, clothing, and expenses (O: for the duration of the journey, round trip, and the time they spend there, even if prolonged.

H8.24

It is not permissible to give zakat to a non-Muslim, or to someone whom one is obliged to support (def: m12.1), such as a wife or family member.

     Reliance is the handbook of Shafi'i fiqh, authenticated by the Sheikhs of Al-Azhar  University.  The Maliki  school's Risala is shorter, less detailed and easier to read.  Unfortunately, it is only available in pdf format here:

     Hedaya is the handbook of Hanifi fiqh. Printed in an antique type face, densely packed and couched in arcane and archaic vocabulary, it is difficult to read. Hedaya, however, points out the differences between itself and the Shafi'i school. making it a useful tool for research.  It adds a great deal of clarity to the issues of Jihad & Jizya.     If you seek information about the Islamic laws governing slavery, Reliance will frustrate you because the translator deemed that  material obsolete and omitted it.  The laws regulating slavery were not expunged from Hedaya, being spread through Volume 1.  The 785 pages of Vol. 4 contain 2604 instances of "slave".  use the Shift ^F advanced search function of Adobe Reader to find them.
