I found a transcript of President Trump's address to Congress at NPR. While I agree with most of the content and philosophy behind it, I concentrate here on the part from which I am compelled to dissent vociferously. I have selected a few non contiguous lines from the speech for dissection. Superscripts in the excerpt are internally linked to my comments which follow below the horizontal line.
Our obligation is to
serve, protect, and defend the citizens of the United States. We are
also taking strong measures to protect our nation from radical1

According to data
provided by the Department of Justice, the vast majority of individuals
convicted of terrorism and terrorism-related offense since 9/11 came
here from outside of our country3. We

Radical refers to the root. The root of Islamic terrorism is the Qur'an & sunnah but the radical prefix postulates the existence of an anodyne form of Islam which does not involve terrorism. No such anodyne Islam exists. Even if terrorism were stricken from the Qur'an & sunnah, which is impossible, Jihad would remain: genocidal conquest. ISIS
Muslims, motivated by the damnable doctrines of Islam, are the enemy. The Islamic State In Syria is one manifestation of Islam. If you could eliminate ISIS by exterminating its fighting forces, there would still be 1.3 billion Muslims infesting the earth and dozens of terrorist groups to carry on the Jihad. World War 2 was not won and ended until the fat lady sang over Hiroshima & Little Boy & Fat Man brought supernumerary sunrise to Japan. Defeating their navy and air forces was not enough. Who can get a clue?
If vampires were real instead of mythical, what would happen if we left one alive? So it is with Islam: one surviving Muslim will breed or recruit more and the Jihad will resume because the alternative is going to Hell. Martyrdom is the only sure ticket to Allah's celestial orgy with two perpetual virgins and up to 70 Jewish & Christian women taken from the fire. Who can get a clue?

Islam entails imposition of shari'ah which is primarily derived from the Qur'an and sunnah. It requires a minimum of one military expedition against kuffar in every year when it is possible. The laws of Jihad are summarized for us in "The Book Of Jihad"; reading its table of contents should be sufficient to piss off any sentient man of good will.savages

Only an ignorant fool believes he has Muslim friends & allies! Allah expressly forbids equal & inferior relationships with kuffar! Muslims must be superior as per 9.33. You can not extinguish a great smoldering mass. The Islamic State is not the only inimical manifestation of Islam. If you could eliminate it, a new organization would rise up from the Ummah to rival al-Qaeda in the rush to replace it. As explained above, while one Believing slave of Allah lives, the war will continue!Kinetically, you must wipe out all their training camps and assembly areas. You must kill all their leaders and bomb & strafe their funeral processions. If you got'em, smoke'em!
Ideologically, you must prove to Muslims: the entire Ummah, that Allah is an impotent idol unworthy of worship and obedience. You must induce mass apostasy or the Jihad will never end. Once again I refer the clueless to page 60 of "The Quranic Concept Of War".
